  • Pay Rate: Negotiable, based on experience
  • Position Status: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, flexibility with schedule

Responsibilities

Here’s what to expect as a Specialist, Human Resources:

  • Present benefit plan information and assist new hires with completing enrollment documents via the HRIS; complete all administrative steps to enroll staff into healthcare, retirement, and other applicable group plans.

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for benefit-related inquiries through the HR Help Desk or Ticketing System, responding in a timely manner or directing as needed.

  • Maintain accurate and timely employee data in the HRIS, including pay and emergency contact changes; perform quality checks on HRIS and Relias LMS data.

  • Assist with the administration of all paid and unpaid leave programs, including FMLA; prepare and distribute related paperwork and assist in tracking and compliance procedures.

  • Generate HRIS and compliance reports for leadership and stakeholders, including EEO-1, Valenz, birthday and service anniversary reports.

  • Administer the Employee Service Awards program, coordinate birthday celebrations, and serve as Chair of the Employee Recognition Committee.

  • Assist with HR communications including benefit guides, monthly newsletter, HR procedural manuals, and updates to the Employee and Manager Self-Service pages.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements as a Specialist, Human Resources:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; or High School Diploma/GED with 2–5 years of relevant experience required
  • Minimum of 2 years of previous experience serving in an entry-level or comparable role within an HR Department
  • A valid driver’s license; Access to vehicle with valid insurance, registration, and inspection
  • 18 years of age

Preferred, but not required:

  • Prior experience serving in most or all of the following HR functional areas: Benefits and Compensation Administration, HRIS Management, HR Customer Service and Communication, Leave Program Administration, and Performance Management Program Administration
  • SHRM CP or HRCI PHR certification
