    Responsibilities

    • Process electronic billings to Managed Care Organizations, PROMISE and private payers for services completed.
    • Ensure billings are done claim files are submitted timely.
    • Review all unbilled services to ensure that claims are submitted in a timely manner.
    • Follow-up with supervisors to identify claims that need completed or corrected.
    • Keep appropriate document for claim denial management.
    • Work on re-bill and reversal request projects in collaboration with Billing Accountants.
    • Analyze billing rejections and ensure they are cleared in a timely manner.
    • Send rejection reports to supervisors and provide timely follow-up and reporting.
    • Analyze aging reports, correct and rebill as necessary, follow up with supervisors for issues that must be resolved outside the fiscal department.

    Qualifications

    • Proven experience as billing specialist
    • Adherence to laws and best practices in regards to dealing with customers and data
    • Comfortable dealing with numbers and the processing of financial information
    • Excellent knowledge of MS Office (particularly Excel)
    • Results-driven and patient
    • High degree of attention to detail and trustworthiness
    • Associate degree within a related discipline required and 2 years of related learning experience is expected.
    • Experience in Medicaid and managed care billing is preferred.
